A(r)telier Cocon is a workshop where dolls from the Zonnekind brand are made.

In addition, all kinds of other toys based on Waldorf-Steiner pedagogy are made, including cooperative board games for small children.

The materials used are mainly felt, cotton, silk and wool, the latter coming from the sheep grazing here at La Caille.

All items are generally offered for sale as DIY kits.

It is also possible to stay at La Caille and make your own doll or game under supervision during your stay.

The studio opened its doors in 2010. It is organised as an association under the French law of 1901 and donates its profits to Waldorf education every year.

Conny, the initiator of this studio, was originally a nursery school teacher and handicrafts teacher. Over the years, she has become a master in the making of ‘Sun Child dolls’ and still enjoys passing on her knowledge to this day.

She is co-author of the handbook: Sun Child Dolls (published by Mercurius).

The book has now been translated into English and will be distributed worldwide from December this year (2025). For orders, please visit the Zonnekind fundation website.

For those staying at La Caille, at the campsite or in the Héberge, it is also an ideal place to do something creative in the studio when the weather is bad or too hot. Of course, activities can also be offered on request.
